Skip Bin Cancellation and Refunds
Plans change and jobs get pushed back. This page sets out how skip bin cancellation and refunds work here, and the short version is that it costs nothing until the truck is committed to your job.
Cancelling before delivery
Give us 24 hours before delivery and there is nothing to pay. Reply to the booking email and it is done.
Inside that, the run for the day is already planned around your drop, so a cancellation is 50.
Changing the date instead
If the job has moved rather than fallen over, move the booking rather than cancelling it. A date change costs nothing as long as we know before the truck is loaded, and it saves you doing the whole thing again.
When the truck turns up and cannot deliver
This is the one that costs the most and it is almost always avoidable.
If the driver arrives and cannot place the bin, the trip still happened. A car parked across the drop point, a gate narrower than described, a branch nobody mentioned or a locked site with nobody to call all mean the truck goes back to the yard with the bin still on it. That is $75, the failed delivery and return to yard fee.
The way to avoid it is a quick message before you book. Tell us the access, the surface and where exactly the bin is going, and if it is tight we will work it out then rather than on the day.
Cancelling after the bin has been delivered
Once the bin is on site the hire has started, so the delivery and the collection have both been done and there is no refund on them.
If you finish early, tell us and we will collect it early. That costs nothing and it frees the bin up.
What is not refunded
- Weight over the tonnage allowance. It is charged by the facility on a weighbridge and it is passed on at cost.
- A load charged at a higher rate because it turned up as something other than what was booked. The waste types page explains how that happens and how to avoid it.
- A council permit fee, once the council has it.
How a refund is paid
A refund goes back the way the payment came in. Card payments go back to the same card, bank transfers go back to the account they came from, and it takes within 2 to 5 business days, and your bank may take longer to show it.
Your rights under Australian law
None of this affects the consumer guarantees. If a bin does not turn up, turns up wrong, or we get something wrong at our end, you are entitled to have it put right and this page does not change that.

If a job has changed and you are not sure where you stand, send us the details before the delivery date rather than after it. Almost everything on this page is cheaper the earlier you tell us.
