9m³ Skip Bin Hire in Brisbane
We run the 9m³ across Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast, and it costs a step up from the 8m³. Whether that gap is worth paying comes down to one thing, and it is not how big the pile looks.
Is the extra metre worth it
Compared with an 8m³, you are paying one step more for one more cubic metre. Whether that is good value depends entirely on what is going in.
The test is simple. If you could carry a full bin’s worth of your load up a flight of stairs given enough time, it is light, and the 9m³ earns its place.

Worth it when the load is light and bulky
Lounge suites, mattresses, wardrobes, packaging, insulation batts, shop fittings, garden waste. This material runs out of room long before it gets anywhere near the tonnage allowance, so every extra cubic metre is a cubic metre you will actually use.

Not worth it when the load has weight in it
Anything with soil, tile, brick or concrete through it will hit 1.75 tonnes with the bin part full. Paying for the ninth cubic metre when you cannot legally fill the eighth is money for nothing.

- At this length you cannot reach the middle of the bin from either end, so the door stops being a convenience. Walking material in through the back is the only way the far half gets loaded properly. At this length the access questions from the 8m³ page apply in full: room for the truck to get close, nothing overhead in the way of the lifting arms, and a permit if it is going on the kerb.

How to fill it so the volume counts
On a bulky load, how you pack it is worth more than the size you booked.
Break down anything that folds. Cardboard flat, wardrobes apart, table legs off. Put the long flat things in first and stand them along the sides. Fill the middle with the awkward shapes. A well packed 8m³ holds more than a badly packed 9m³, and it costs less.
Load has to sit level with the top rail either way. Anything stacked above it cannot legally travel and the driver will ask you to pull it back down.

Sigma runs seven skip bin sizes in Brisbane, from 2m³ up to 12m³.

12m³ Sigma Bin
Step up to the 12m³ for a build, a site bin or an ongoing commercial job, and be aware that it needs a lot more room to land. On a suburban block the 9m³ is often the biggest bin that will physically fit.
Book a 9m³
Tell us what the load is made of rather than how big it looks, and we will tell you honestly whether the ninth cubic metre earns its money on your job.
