2m³ Skip Bin

The 2m³ is the smallest bin we run.

2m³ Skip Bin Hire in Brisbane

We run the 2m³ across Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast. The number worth holding it up against is two runs to the tip and a free Saturday, because at this size that is the real comparison, and the rest of this page is about making it honestly.

Do you actually need a bin

Worth asking, because at this size the honest answer is sometimes no.

A trailer makes sense

A trailer makes sense

if you own one or can borrow one, the load is light enough to lift twice, and you have a free Saturday. You pay a gate fee at the tip each visit, you pay for fuel, and you handle everything twice: once into the trailer and once out of it. Two runs is usually the point where people stop enjoying it.

A 2m³ bin makes sense

if the rubbish is heavy, awkward or spread over a few days. It turns up, it sits there while you work, and you load it once. No tip queue and no second handling. That is most of what you are paying for.

if you cannot lift the load yourself. They bring the labour and they charge for it, so the bill is bigger, and for a small clear out that you can handle yourself the bin is the cheaper way.

Where it fits

This is the size that solves an access problem. A standard single driveway takes it with room to walk past. Under a carport is the one to ask about. The bin is lifted in by the arms on the truck, so a roof over the spot can get in the way. Send us a photo before you book and we will tell you whether it works.

If the bin has to go on the kerb rather than on your property, that needs a council permit in most of the areas we cover. You arrange the permit, and we tell you which one you need The service areas page covers what each council wants.

Where it fits

Watch the weight, not the space

0.5 tonnes goes further than it sounds on a household clear out, and disappears fast on anything dense. Old tiles, pavers and a bit of concrete will reach the limit with the bin looking half empty, and over that it is charged by the tonne.

If the load is dirt, brick or rubble, book it as builders and mixed heavy rather than general waste. If it is clean concrete and nothing else, concrete only is cheaper again.

2m³ or 3m³

Sigma runs seven skip bin sizes in Brisbane, from 2m³ up to 12m³.

3m³ Sigma Bin

3m³ Sigma Bin

Go up to the 3m³ if you are clearing a whole room rather than tidying one, or if you are already guessing. The gap in price between the two is smaller than the cost of a second delivery, and the 3m³ is the same width and still sits in a single car space.

Stay at 2m³ if the load is genuinely small and heavy, because you will hit the weight limit before you run out of room either way.
